Very easy to get your bottle out while riding but had enough tension to hold securelysure looked nice, but... didnt even get it completely mounted before it failed. as other reviewer noted, the body is a decent mill-finish anodized aluminum that has some merit for appearance. HOWEVER, the cage body and mounts are 2 separate components. The mounts (visible as black in the pictures) are a thin standard grade ABS - this creates 2 distinct problems; 1. the mounts are independent of the body so no matter how tightly bolted to the frame there is inherent play between the mounts and body. The play allows the cage to be loose and wobbly even when torqued down. 2. The mounts are plastic. In an effort to try and tighten the bolts down enough to stop the 'play' of problem #1, the bolts went straight thru and sheared the thin plastic completely off like a cookie cutter. The 'torquing' was by hand with a multi-tool, ust ot clear. I could actually bend the mounts in half two fingers. Flimsy redefined. If possible, I would give this a zero/ negative star rating because defects noted are not some fluke to the one I received, but a baseline design flaw so elementary and dysfunctional its amazing they actually went to market with this. Showed to a couple buddies and they mocked it as absolute trash. Threw it away and kept riding.2014 Trek Superfly 8 w mods, cat 3 rider w 20 years saddle experience.Good looking but edges are a bit sharp and as others have said the two part design makes it a little less sturdy than others. I took a spill on my bike and knocked the plastic base off of the metal holder, so I had to snap them back together. No regrets on this purchase as it is a good looking piece and not too many out there like it.Great cage, little tricky to mount but it's strong, durable, looks great as a red accent, has enough flex in the body for larger bottles, but still closed enough to hold loose bottles in place, all in all, would buy it again and againTrek XCaliber 7, 29er on technical, woods trails, and urban scape.I bought three of these. Two for my Cobb bracket behind my seat and one for my frame. I was 21 minutes into my first ride and one broke off. Literally, the screws and plastic around the holes were still on my bike. And, I use Loctite so I don't have to over tighten screws.Other than that these seem to be okay cages. Snug fit on the bottle but you get what you pay for. I think I'll stick to aluminum or even expensive carbon.Got loose in less than a month. Weak base.I really like this design and the color adds a unique touch to my road bike. It was easy to install and came with the necessary hardware. My camel water bottles fit well in them and I can easily get the bottles in and out of them while ridingWithout being dramatic, this product is a waste of money. I bought this for my workhorse bicycle that I often lock up in sketchy parts of town. On my other bikes I've got better cages in the $20-$30 range (I can't justify spending $60 on a carbon cage if I'm not actually racing). In any case, the plastic mounting brackets on this cage are pushed into place and begin to loosen and wobble as soon as you mount the it. I remedied that with a bit of plastic cement. About a week later the aluminum just snapped. There is nothing "ultra quality" about any aspect of this product. Spend a few bucks more and get something that will last a few months, minimum.Great looking cage but poor quality item manufactured from a mixture of aluminium alloy (body) and black plastic (fittings). In essence when fixing to the frame the fitting that forms the lower stop snapped, resulting in a hole that was bigger than the maximum possible size for a bolt & washer with which to attach the cage securely. This left the cage hanging from the top bolt rendering it useless. As such it would appear that the plastic used is far too brittle, raising the further question as to its resilience to the knocks and bumps that come with cycling along UK road surfaces. Such a s shame that this cage was not simply punched out and formed from a single piece of aluminum.Good enough for its price. It would be 5 stars if the holes for bolts were bigger so if I could detach it easily. But still, the Colour matches to my bike perfectly.//////Sadly it was broken off in two weeks. Plastic part is too weak too support the weight of metal cage. The plastic base is in two parts that are kinda wedged/"clipped" onto the aluminium frame. Mine came undone soon after bumpy short trips without bottle. If you get this, I recommend super-gluing the plastic to the metal right away. After that it should be no problems. On the bright side, the colour is rich and the aloy is soft and can be coaxed to fit your bottle size.Like any other bottle holder, it holds a bottle and can be fixed to your bike. The construction is a bit cheap and I have found after only a couple of outings that the metal part has come away from the plastic bracket (which fits to the bike) and therefore is a bit wobbly, still works but if purchasing again I would go for something else over this oneThis little beauty meets all my requirements, so many bottle holders only fit certain sizes like regular water bottles. This bit of kit does it all, fits all types of different size bottle sizes that you buy from the supermarkets.
